There is a book called The elephant vanishes by Haruki Murakami in which there is a short story titled The little green monster. I have read this story several times and it has managed to move me in many ways that I am still discovering. It has a way of making you see things in a different way, in a removed perspective that most people rarely get to experience. I cannot recommend it enough and if you get a chance instead of reading it yourself have it read to you, it seems to complete the experience even more.
The book can be found at this link
A professional reading of the little green monster can be found on episode 12/27/09 of the podcast Selected Shorts for free at this link, the episode is titled "A touch of magic"
