This view used to greet me often. It is shortly outside the front door of the house I grew up in in northern Idaho.
Now Playing: This American Life - Magic Words
This one shocked me with it's vibrance on a sunny morning. Now Playing: Right Away, Great Captain! - Fur Stop Caring
You see images from things like The Divine Comedy by Dante Alighieri or illustrations from religious texts that this image reminds me of, they are all like hands pulling you down into something dark. Now Playing: Linkin Park - Victimized
I suggest listening to the song below, she uses tones and inflections that are impressive no matter what you think of the lyrics. I've been fascinated with her phrasing that makes you feel like you're listening to your parents music no matter how old or young they are.
This image was taken this morning on a dawn walk through one of my favorite areas nearby. The whole morning felt like a walk through a field of fresh hay, there was something on the wind that was just clean.
Now Playing: Lana Del Rey - Off to the Races
Here is where the sky reigns over us.Now Playing: Suzanne Collins - Catching Fire
Standing in freezing water, this day was beautiful.
Now Playing: Lana Del Rey - Dark Paradise
We had the most deep crystal blue skies during the trip that they seemed surreal against the rich green forest of spring.
Now Playing: Lana Del Rey - Carmen
A bridge spanning the river, leading into the forest. Like the border to a foreign land.
Now Playing: Lana Del Rey - Born to Die
One of many areas seen on a two day hike I took into South Western Pennsylvania this past weekend. It was the most invigorating experience I've had in a while and I look forward to breaking my new record of 31 miles in two days, I'm still trying to figure out how high 607 flights of stair is but according to my Fitbit that is the equivalent of what we climbed.
Now Playing: La De Les - Cure in the Mountains
Sometimes you see something that you like, but you're not sure why, then you start to unfold it, expand it and look deeper into why you enjoy it and you find that while not all of it's parts are pleasing there is a core there that is beautiful. Sometimes I see this in textures and I just can't escape them.
Now Playing: Skrillex - Voltage
All this fog seems so lazy, just sitting around waiting for the sun to rise and scare it off like a mother shoeing a child out her the way of her work.
Now Playing: The Wise Man's Fear - Patrick Rothfuss
An island that the soul goes to when it's worried. Now that's a place I want to visit. Now Playing: Right Away, Great Captain - Love Come Save Me
What do you think of these colors? Now Playing: The Wise Man's Fear - Patrick Rothfuss
Seems like a place you would walk past on your way home in the 1800's. I'm not sure why, that's just how it hit me.
Now Playing: The Wise Man's Fear - Patrick Rothfuss
This little lady kept wandering closer and closer to me as I was walking towards here until suddenly her instinct took over her interest and she headed off. Her regal posture is quite enjoyable though.
Now Playing: Coheed and Cambria - 33
Caught these two flying directly over the small path of water.
Now Playing: Chronic Future - Insects
Sometimes we forget how easy it is to see something majestic, all it takes is a little effort.
Now Playing: DC Talk - Between You and Me
This whole area seemed like the mist was just moving back and forth over it, washing the earth with a light layer of water.
Now Playing: Mike Shinoda & Joseph Trapanese - Hole Drop
I can't go on long drives anymore and make good time, it seems I'm stopping every 15 minutes as the sun sets to create a new image of some fancy thing I see along the way. This tree stood here all alone on the edge of the road looking out over the lake with a couple little brothers looking up to him, waiting for their turn to grow and stand in the sunlight.
