Ray and Danielle

Had a great engagement shoot with a couple friends yesterday during a beautiful evening walking about at our local arboreutm with the sun setting throught the many different trees. Exciting times are upon us and I wish them the best of luck and lots of good times in the life they are beginning together.

What a rainbow

Ended up having almost zero time to shoot yesterday but I was able to capture this beautiful sky into what I believe is a very awkward composure. The way the color changes from bottom left to top right reminds me of a very large rainbow.

Catching the Dragon

Got a new 70-200 lens recently and took it out for a hike yesterday where I found two dragonflies competing for space on a log, neither one would land unless the other was gone but they both kept on coming back. It reminded me of many things in life and since they are so paranoid of people getting close to them I was still able to get a good close up with this new lens.

Hi

Had the suprise of stumbling onto this little 3 foot long beauty during my hike today. I get so distracted listening to music and enjoying the nature around me that sometimes I forget to look down then when I do there is a large black snake in my path!

Change up

Today since I have been pressed for time in the last 3 days I will be sharing a small video clip taken on my last hike that I really enjoy. This is the type of thing that in real life I can just stand and breath in. I am glad that my iPhone 4 does a perfectly adequate job of capturing it.

Tomorrow it's back to the shooting which I am looking forward to immensely.

Constant inspiration

Today I woke three hours before I have to be at work and spent it drinking a delicious cup of fresh ground coffee and watching a keynote from Chase Jarvis and a lot of other fantastic photographers, their discussion of inspiration, how they got started, and what it doesn't take to be amazing is a great way of looking at life and work. A lot of my time in the last few years has been devoted to learning and creating, I want nothing more than to be surrounded by people who want to constantly grow and people like Chase Jarvis set such a great example.

Below is the keynote address itself given by Chase Jarvis during PDNPhoto Plus Expo 2010, if you have the time I highly suggest watching it as even if you are not a photographer the things they discuss can be applied to many areas of life. There are so many people and things in life that inspire me to work and be who I want to be and I want to start sharing some of them here.
