So I'm told that they used to hang witches inside of these towers, I don't know if it's true but it's an interesting thought as to why.

These little flowers stood out so much on this overcast day that they caught my attention more than anything else.
Now Playing: Paper Route - Carousel
Got a chance to do a professional studio shoot tonight thanks to a great guy letting me tag along. I think some good shots came out of it! Only bad part is I have over 300 images and I didn't get home till after 11 so I don't have time to go through them all. Here is a quick one!
Now Playing: The Ting Tings - That's Not My Name
This is the HDR version of a previous shot. The previous one is a standard shot with fill flash and this is a 5 exposure HDR, which one do you prefer? Let me know in the comments!
Now Playing: Bon Iver - The Wolves (Act I and II)
A pulled back view from inside the chapel. One of the only two HDR shots I did during the walk.
Now Playing: Arcade Fire - Month of May
There are so many things you can say about this image. I'll just shut up and let your mind wander.
Now Playing: The Cinematic Orchestra - Dawn
The idea that these tiny building protect human remains is interesting to me. I don't think a large enough building could be created to house a soul but that it is commonplace to build a small mausoleum for the body seems ludicrous. Once we are gone from this place we long so much to leave a mark or make a difference that we are willing to take up a small amount of land just so other humans have somewhere to go to remember us. Burial and cremation is something I've have thought about quite a lot and still find fascinating.
I hope that eventually the entire human race will move towards cremation to conserve what little land we have left, if we continue with large cemeteries and mausoleums (which are beautiful by the way) we will soon run out of land on which to keep our living.
Now Playing: Sent By Ravens - An Honest Heart
What is dripping out of you? What is the hole in my wall that allows people in. Where is the hole in your façade?
Now playing: Band of Horses - The First Song
What did he dodge? Was it a long lifetime? Something about this name inscription has me thinking.
Now Playing: Electric Six - Danger High Voltage
This little statue was hidden in a little area behind some gravestones and it seemed to have the most personality out of all of them, something about it seemed more in line with Buddhism than early Christianity.
Now Playing: Sia - Stop Trying
The most striking area in the whole place was this small mausoleum, it had a beautiful sculpture of a woman standing outside the gate pressed against it like she wished she could be inside, longing for the person who was no longer there.
Now Playing: Bon Iver - Blindsided
Another shot from the photo walk recently. I've managed to find the time to cull them down to a few favorites, tomorrow I'll be more strict and cut out even more! Today I loved this image and just maybe it will make you feel something.
Now playing: Denali - Do Something
Created this image today during the Scott Kelby International Photo Walk. It was a great time and I really enjoyed all the wonderful photographers I met there. I am anxious to work with them again! This image has zero HDR work in it even though it looks a little like it does. It was basically some on the spot ambient light balancing with a bare flash. I cringe when I use a bare flash but the gear required to set it up properly was quite a ways away and I wanted the challenge of hand holding the flash without any soft box or shoot through. I like how it came out in the end and I hope you enjoy it too!
Now playing: The Arcade Fire - Month of May
Going for the abstract again. There is something about the texture of concrete that I've always loved.
Now playing: Arcade Fire - My Body Is A Cage
As a side note the song and video in the above link go EXTREMELY well with this image.
Now playing: Matt Costa - Shimmering Fields
The war is over and I'm left alone here waiting for you to come home. Waiting for the ghost I'd almost known.
Now playing: Feist - The Park
Some heavy abstract of people fading through the foreground.
Now Playing: Jem - Save Me
A few of my favorite books, not really what you would consider light reading.
Now playing: Sia - My love
Another take on something I did quiet a while ago.
Now playing: Angus & Julia Stone - Bella
